Online Blackjack News - Professor Blackjack at the History Channel

The History Channel(R) introduces BREAKING VEGAS, a new TV series that focuses mainly on the players that cheated in order to win. BREAKING VEGAS is not just about those high-stake cheaters but also about the different tactics these players used in order to flee Vegas casinos. Professor Blackjack relates the story of a young math professor who created a revolutionary card-counting strategy and a mafia person who joined him to create a partnership that would forever affect the casino industry. The History Channel’s new TV series will be on your screen on March 1st at 9 pm.

The large variety of methods that are being used to cheat in casino games is incredible. Some use digital equipment in order to spy, other create different gadgets that are supposed to predict outcomes in table games such as roulette and blackjack. In addition to that, there are obviously the inside jobs, but apart from illegal ways of cheating, there are also legal ways to cheat. For example, card counting strategies and some of them involve teams of players. BREAKING VEGAS will include everything, from recent and historical background to interviews with the people behind the strategies. Episodes will also feature performances, factual background, and an opportunity to learn about the methods and the casinos’ constant effort to fight it.

Episodes Include:

THE ULTIMATE CHEAT (airing Tuesday, March 1st at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT) which narrates the story of Richard Marcus from New Jersey who swore he could cheat casinos out of $5 million and never be caught.

SLOT BUSTER (airing Tuesday, March 1st at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT) presents the story of Ron Harris, a technology expert employed by the Nevada Gaming Control Board to stop technology-related casino scams. After realizing his employers’ negligent approach to stop cheaters, he used his inside knowledge to become one himself.

PROFESSOR BLACKJACK (airing Tuesday, March 8th at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT) is the story of a young math professor who created a revolutionary card-counting strategy and a mafia person who joined him to create a partnership that would forever affect the casino industry.

THE GADGET GAMBLER (airing Tuesday, March 15th at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT) is Keith Taft who was a common man, fond of electronic gadgets that had an idea to combine this hobby with his obsession to beat blackjack. He used LED eyeglasses, laser beams, satellite dishes, TV monitors, and even used his own children to execute a variety of scams.

CARD COUNT KING (airing Tuesday, March 22nd at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT) is about Tommy Hyland who turned card-counting into a team effort that he considered legal but the casinos opposed to it. His success cost him the arrest of members of his team in a Canadian casino, and an enormous court battle that provoked furious debate that change the concept of card counting.
