Blackjack, including online blackjack, is a very logical game. All you have to do in order to crack the mystery behind "blackjack madness" is learn a few basic blackjack strategies and apply them to your game. The strategies are quite simple, like finding the right table and not getting worried about the other players, positive thinking, the art of quitting before it's too late and much more.

Here you'll find strategies & blackjack switch techniques for use at online blackjack virtual tables. Use these strategies wisely and start winning more and more...

Remain calm in the face of stupidity

Once you learn the basic game strategy, you might get upset whenever a player makes a stupid move, such as splitting 10's. Although it may sometimes seem to you that you lost your hand due to that specific move of the unskilled player, always remember that it's all about luck, and like you lost your hand this time, next time this player makes a mistake, he might make you win.

Whether others play the right way or not, never forget you always have the odds in your favor when you play according to the basic strategies.

Be brave, be strong!

Are you afraid to take a hit? Don't be! On a hard 16 against the dealer's 10, hit. Forget about the last time you hit a 16 and lost. Next time might be better, and if not, then the following time might be. In the long run, the basic strategy works in your favor. Always keep that in mind. People who are afraid to take hits tend to lose in the long run.

Think Positively

One thing which applies to any area of life is positive thinking. Despite its lack of mathematical (or even scientifically proven) effect, many people know that when you have negative thoughts, bad things are more likely to happen to you and vice versa. The same thing goes for online blackjack - think positively and use your blackjack skills well. When you think you're going to lose, just don't play!

Stay away from "bad" tables

Many players, when confronting a losing table, keep playing there, hoping for their luck to change. This is a crucial mistake! When playing online blackjack, always remember that there are more tables out there, and you don't have to be at a losing table, virtual as it may be. If you continue losing at other online blackjack tables, perhaps it's just not your day. There will always be time to play online blackjack on other, luckier days.

Count side bets / distractions out!

Most casinos make small profits from their blackjack tables and attempt enlarging their proceeds by offering side bets. At blackjack2002.com, we've gathered the most popular of them and added guidance as to the side bets you should or shouldn't take.

5 Cards 21 – Pays 2 to 1 if the player gets 5 cards totaling 21.

21 + 3 - A nearly impossible bet. The player here gambles that his two initial cards along with the dealer's up-card will either form a flush, straight, straight flush or three of a kind. The pay out is 9 to 1.

Over/Under Bet – The house allowed the player to bet whether or not his two initial cards will total of over 13 (overbet) or under (underbet). Studies have shown that if you take this bet, the house received an extra 6.6% chance of winning for the over bet, and 10% for the underbet. This bet is not recommended for new players.

Pair Square – Yet another bet that should be avoided. Here a player wins only if his two first cards are of the same rank, and the payoff is 10 to 1 if they're unmatched or 15 to 1 if they match in suits.

Progressive Blackjack – For this sidebet, you place a dollar and get paid if any aces are dealt. The more aces, the higher the payoff. Better to stay clear of this one as well, since it gives the house an advantage of over 15% on you.

Red/Black – One of the simplest sidebet, where you try to foretell the color of the dealer's upcard. This gives the house a 3.8% advantage on you.

Royal Match – The Royal Match bet gives you a 3 to 1 bonus if your initial cards match in suits, and 10 to 1 if they're king and queen. Actual winnings from this bet are far in between and most professionals suggest avoiding it entirely.

Streak – The player bets on the number of hands he will win in succession, anywhere from 2 to 5.

Suited 6-7-8 – Players win this bet only if their three initial cards are 6-7-8 of the same suit AND the player wins the hand. The player has less than a 0.01% chance of winning this one.

Super 7's – The player places his bet, gambling on the odds of him being dealt at least one card of 7. The payoff is 3 to 1 if you receive a 7, 50 to 1 if you're dealt a pair of 7s and 500 to 1 if you're dealt three 7s. The payoffs might sound extremely high and tempting, but it also adds the casino an 11% gain over you. Better to stay clear of this one.

Close the leaks in your wallet

Or, simply put, don't chase a losing hand. There are money management systems you can use - act accordingly.

Online blackjack tournaments won't hurt you

A blackjack tournament which takes place in an internet casino tends to worry quite a lot of people, while there's no actual reason for that. The well-known internet casinos give their users a fair chance at winning in online blackjack tournaments. In the internet-based casino you get to play solely against the computer which is dealing your cards. The casino computers deal the cards randomly out of a deck. There are barely any "hot", (always-winning) computer dealers, and in this case, most likely after a few losses there will be a win, unless you start believing in bad luck - which might affect your concentration.

As it seems, in internet based casino you get rewarded for your basic blackjack strategies, and why not? Don't forget that the basic strategy was actually developed by computer programs, after researching millions of blackjack hands.

Although the chances are 50% for either winning or losing, lower your bets after a loss and bet harder after a win. Start your online blackjack session with rather small, conservative bets and see how it goes before increasing your bets. Whether you're playing against a computer dealer or a human, be sure to learn the next tip, which is (except for the basic strategy) the most important advice that you'll find.

Be flexible against reality

A winning streak, when it comes to blackjack (whether it's land-based or online blackjack), will not go on forever. At some point, you're bound to lose one game or more. Many have lost their profits and more over greediness or plain stupidity, which made them continue playing, hoping to win again. Learn when to stop. When you see no profits after a limit you've set for yourself (such as 3 rounds in a row or a $200 loss), take your profits and go away, even when it comes to online blackjack. Don't forget - this is something you must do when it comes to online blackjack. A hot streak of winning is possible, from time to time, especially if you learn to use all the information given to you here. Just remember that no one can win forever, and stop whenever you hit a losing streak. Maybe it's not your day; maybe you need a few hours' break, but always remember that it's always better to walk away as a winner, or even without profit, than to come out the loser.

Think about it this way - would you prefer telling your friends how you lost the $1000 in which you won, or about the $700 you got when you walked away in time from that losing streak?

If every blackjack player used the strategies and tips given here, casinos would have to close down their blackjack tables, because they would no longer be profitable. Most players, however, rely too much on their gut and not enough on strategy and statistics, so casinos keep making profits off of novice players. Don't be one of those.
