Online Blackjack News - Player Attacks Slot Machine in Casino
|
|
In July of this year, a man named Truy Huu Phung was playing a slot machine at Catfish Bend casino and began to strike it with his right hand. Upon having his will with the machine, he quietly looked around to see if anyone had seen him, and then he proceeded to sneak out of the casino
Seemingly an open and shut case, as players are docked and checked both by player crads and security camera. However, when the security recording was seen in August of this year, they did not recognize him. However, they did find the last player card that was inserted into the machine before the attack belonged to Phung.
He was then arrested and charged with second degree criminal mischief, which is a class-D felony in Iowa. He now faces up to five years in prison. The bail was set for $5,000 and just this week the judge failed to lower the bail. Trial is set for November, and Phung has plead not guilty.
Anyone who has sat in a chair and gambled away precious dollars certainly understands the feelings that Phung endured before the attack, and while he faces criminal charges, he will be applauded by many gamblers who have had the urge to put one of these slot machines in its place.
