Online Blackjack News - Online Casino Helps Cheated Lottery Winner

Casino owner Bill Whitling decided to gamble on Ramoutar. He hooked her up with a prominent Port of Spain attorney and she is to give him the details of how the deal went down. “She may need a knight in shining armour" said Whitling, who operates Club Monte Carlo in San Fernando. But the lawyer representing the man who took home the big money believes any court action would fail. A promise can be broken, said attorney Netram Kowlessar.
It was Kowlessar who became involved in the money grab last Friday when Ramoutar, a janitor working at the Starlite Shopping Plaza in Diego Martin, bought the winning instant scratch ticket with money she was given by a security guard. He asked for $2 scratch tickets. There was none. And on a whim, she bought a $10 Set for Life ticket.
She said they scratched the ticket together, her "friend" agreeing to split the purse 50/50 if they won. They did win. But Ramoutar lost in the end.
The guard's wife arrived with his children. They asked for the ticket. Mall workers advised him to take it all. He went to the police to report his ticket was stolen. Ramoutar, he said, had taken it. She was strip searched, detained for an hour.
The ticket - the key to a new life she was already fantasizing about - was taken away. It happened at the Four Roads Police Station last Friday.
The next day, police officers at the Central Police Station became involved. They seized the ticket until Monday when Ramoutar gave up. She said an attorney advised her it would cost too much and she had little chance of winning. The Express caught up with the millionaire guard yesterday.
"Talk to my lawyer. He speaks for me," he advised. Kowlessar said the issue was one of legal ownership - Ramoutar bought the ticket on the guard's behalf.
"He is denying he agreed to anything and he is disturbed about this," said Kowlessar.
Told that a legal challenge was on the cards, Kowlessar said many civil suits were frivolous, a claim based on a promise that can't substantiate her claim". Ramoutar returned to work on Tuesday.
She said she kept her head low, speaking to no one, sweeping and cleaning as she always did for 14 years.

Lottery loser Karen Ramoutar won the sympathy of many people yesterday, with one man prepared to mount a legal challenge to help her get part of the $1 million she said she helped a friend win.
