Online Blackjack News - Connecticut Senate Candidate Admits Past Blackjack Gambling Debts
Connecticut's closely-watched Senate race recently witnessed a highly unexpected revelation. Alan Schlesinger, Senator Joseph Lieberman's GOP opponent, reportedly confessed that, in the early 90's, he was sued by two Atlantic City casino establishments for refusing to pay as much as $28,000 in blackjack gambling debts.
Despite reports revealing that Schlesinger was expelled out of Foxwoods casino after being accused of blackjack card counting, the candidate claimed he did nothing wrong. Schlesinger, an ex-Derby mayor, was reported as saying that he was a recreational blackjack player, and that he was not abandoning the Senate race because he had two civil lawsuits filed against him over a decade ago.
According to a recently-released Quinnipiac University poll, in a matchup with Lieberman, the blackjack-playing Senate candidate trailed the senator 68% to 15%.
