Online Blackjack News - Las Vegas Sands Corp. to Offer Mobile Blackjack and Other Hand-held Casino Games

The Nevada-based Las Vegas Sands Corp., a major U.S. gaming operator, recently announced that it intended to offer mobile gaming to customers at its Venetian Resort Hotel Casino. The future move is designed to make it the first casino company to take advantage of a new state law allowing the operation of hand-held devices at casinos' public areas.
The mobile devices will be manufactured and operated by Cantor Gaming, an affiliate of financial-services company Cantor Fitzgerald based in New York. According to the newly-adopted law, wireless gaming on hand-held devices will be allowed in public areas of gaming facilities, such as restaurants, nightclubs and poolside.
Sands officials were reported as saying that the mobile apparatuses would feature classic casino games, including blackjack, roulette, poker and slots. The list of other gaming equipment manufacturers that have voiced interest in the use of mobile machines for gambling includes IGT and Shuffle Master Inc., as well as Diamond I Inc., a wireless technology developer.
