Online Blackjack News - Hawaii Police Officers Charged with Protecting Illegal Cockfights and Blackjack Games
Following a long-time federal investigation of illegal cockfights and gambling operations in Waialua, Hawaii, three Honolulu police officers have been charged with assisting to organize, run, and protect the operation of cockfights and other forms of illegal gambling, such as blackjack, craps, and poker.
Sergeant Kevin Brunn and officers Bryson Apo and Glenn Miram have been charged with warning members of the illegal enterprise when the Honolulu Police Department's Vice Division planned to raid their cockfights, as well as card and dice games. In addition, Brunn has also been charged with extortion for allegedly demanding over $3,500 for continuing to protect these criminal activities.
Police Chief Boisse Correa was reported as saying that, after the federal investigation is over, HPD intends to conduct an internal investigation that might lead to the implication of additional police officers in cockfighting and drug dealing activities.
