Online Blackjack News - Addiction to Games Including Blackjack on the Rise in Ontario
|
|
Gambling may be a form of leisure for most gaming enthusiasts. For some, however, it has developed into an addiction that ruins the lives of many. Reports show that about 3 to 4 percent of Ontario residents have become addicted to games such as blackjack and other card games.
In view of the rise in problem gambling in Ontario, “Within Limits Problem Gambling Prevention Month” will run throughout the month of March in the hopes of raising awareness regarding problem gambling and helping Ontarians who are addicted to casino games such as blackjack.
Gambling Council CEO Jon Kelly was reported as saying, "According to our research, 340,000 people in Ontario have moderate to severe gambling problems. Our goal is to share information about the signs of problem gambling, how to avoid the risks, and to ensure that people who have a problem know where to seek help in their communities."
Organizers of Within Limits Problem Gambling Prevention Month wish to teach gamblers how to play blackjack and other games within their limits. It also aims to help addicts fight their problem. |
