Online Blackjack News - Blackjack at Montana Casino Fundraiser Gets the Axe
This weekend, the Jaycees of Laurel, Montana, will not be hosting their traditional fundraising "casino night" with games of blackjack and roulette, but rather a "Poker Party Plus" evening. The Laurel Jaycees, a group that provides leadership training, has been forced by the Department of Justice to cancel the casino night, which was meant to raise money for Project HELP.
It was reported that the Jaycees received a call from the Montana Justice Department stating that they had to cancel their fundraiser, as casino nights with blackjack and roulette are illegal; these two games are not permitted under Montana law.
The Jaycees' will abide by this regulation, but will still proceed with their casino night. Instead of blackjack and roulette, there will be bingo and poker games, which will be played for entertainment only, with wagers in “play money.”
