Online Blackjack News - Banned Guru Sues New Mexico Blackjack Expert
A member of the Sikh religion from Espaņola, New Mexico, has sued Richard Harvey, a blackjack expert, and Richard Brown, both of Mystic Ridge Books or Mystic Ridge Production, for banning him from Harvey's blackjack seminar. Harvey claims that he suspected Guru Sant Singh Khalsa worked for casinos that ban gamblers who learn this method of winning at blackjack. Khalsa says he had been falsely accused and that Harvey had breached their contract. Harvey is apparently furious about this lawsuit and plans to counter sue.
Harvey believes that, just like any casino or business in the world, he had the right to ban Khalsa from his blackjack seminar. Harvey became suspicious of Khalsa at a previous seminar. Khalsa allegedly tried to convince Harvey to join up with him to create an illegal blackjack team that would operate inside the Taos Mountain Casino. Harvey is well-known in the casino industry, and claims that Khalsa knew this. If he were to be identified Harvey would have been banned from the casino for good.
It was reported that the blackjack expert's home had been broken into and that he had been followed many times. Harvey was reported as saying that he is very strict about people identifying themselves when attending his blackjack seminars because of these threats on his security. Khalsa's refusal to comply with this identification procedure was another factor that apparently led Harvey to ban him from the seminar.
