Online Blackjack News - Casino Surrender Becomes a Popular Blackjack Option
|
|
Casino Surrender is a new optional rule in blackjack created by Frank Mugnolo, a 51-year-old Chicago native and president of Bellwood, Illinois-based Casino Gaming LLC. This option is being used in 12 Nevada, Indiana and Mississippi casinos. The total number of casinos using Casino Surrender will likely rise to 16 by the end of the year, with over 100 blackjack tables expected to be including this option by then.
Casino Surrender and surrender, a classic blackjack option, should not be confused with one another. Surrender is a blackjack option in which players can “surrender” their hand when a dealer has an ace or a ten-valued card showing. If players feel that it is near impossible to beat the dealer, they can announce surrender to him/her and get half their bet back.
Casino Surrender is another optional rule, but this time around, it's the dealers who are doing the surrendering. Casino Surrender gives players the opportunity to force the dealer to surrender when in possession of a two-card 20 against the dealer's 10 up-card, so long as the dealer's down card is not an ace. The player may play out his hand or settle for winning 150% of his/her original bet.
Casino Surrender provides blackjack players with an opportunity to use their skills to their advantage, and has thus proved to be a beneficial option.
