Online Blackjack News - Ute Mountain Casino to Hold Preliminary Blackjack Tournaments for World Series of Blackjack

GSN, The Network for Games, will be joining forces with Ute Mountain Casino Hotel & Resort, the largest casino in Southwest Colorado, for the World Series of Blackjack 2006. At the moment, the casino resort is hosting three preliminary blackjack tournaments, in which the winner of each tournament will win one of forty seats in the World Series of Blackjack. This is the first time that players will be representing casinos to compete for a seat at this prestigious blackjack tournament.
The World Series of Blackjack, broadcast by GSN, began in 2004, with 25 of the world's best blackjack players competing for a $250,000 prize pool. The following year involved up to forty players and a much bigger prize pool of $500,000.
Senior Vice President of Programming at GSN, Ian Valentine said: “We are looking forward to having three of the winners from Ute Mountain’s tournament take on the best blackjack players in the ‘World Series of Blackjack 2006’ on GSN.”
