Online Blackjack News - Will West Memphis See More Blackjack?

Hundred of jobs in West Memphis, Arkansas, could be created if plans to expand gambling with casino games, such as blackjack, go underway. The only problem is that local church groups have shown concern that gambling in the area may be troublesome, and are against the expansion of gambling at the town's Southland Greyhound Park.
Currently, the plan is to add "games of skill," such as electronic games of solitaire and blackjack to the park. Slot machines are not included in these plans. City Councilman Marco McClendon favors this expansion, and feels that it would be beneficial to the city.
Supporters of this expansion estimate that nearly $720,000 dollars will be brought in yearly, and hopefully 200 new jobs will be created. Early voting began yesterday, and Regular voting will be on November 8. |
