Online Blackjack News - Tribe's Lawsuit To Bring In Casinos With Blackjack Deemed Unconstitutional and Outdated
This Friday, Ohio Attorney General Jim Petro moved to dismiss a lawsuit by an American Indian Tribe to seek rights to 93,000 acres in Ohio, as well as sections of Butler and Warren counties, in order to build a casino resort with blackjack tables and other class III gaming.
The Shawnee tribe sued the Ohio government, and 86 other entities, saying that their ancestors were forced out of Ohio, and that they therefore have ownership rights in three counties. The tribe wishes to bring class III casino gambling to Ohio.
Class III gambling includes Las Vegas-style casino games, such as blackjack, roulette and slot machines, played at many casinos around the world. The Shawnee Tribe also wants to build a casino in the Village of Botkins, located in Shelby County.
