Online Blackjack News - Blackjack and Other Table Games Constitute Main Source of Oklahoma Gaming Revenue
Oklahoma state officials had predicted that expanded gambling to include blackjack tables and slot machines would give the state about $4 million a month. However, a total of only $4 million has been gathered since January.
Newly approved card games, such as blackjack and Texas Hold 'em, have gathered the most amount of revenues, having generated $3.8 million dollars for the state. Class Three electronic games, on the other hand, have generated a mere $697,000 for Oklahoma.
Scott Meacham, Oklahoma state treasurer, reportedly explained this phenomenon by the fact that tribal casinos immediately began offering card games such as blackjack when they became legal. However, it took longer for gaming machines to begin operation and produce revenues. |
