Online Blackjack News - Blackjack Monitoring System Implemented At Casinos
Casinos have begun using new technology that assists in monitoring players at table games such as blackjack. The casinos claim that these systems will benefit gamblers, but many players and regulators beg to differ. Intelligent blackjack systems are being used in several casinos across the US, and many more casinos are beginning to consider their use.
Using this technology, every card that is dealt at the blackjack table is displayed by optical readers on a monitor in the back office of the casino. Radio frequency identification (RFID) devices that are placed in chips record all chip bets as well as folded hands. This information is put into databases, and indicates to casino mangers how well a particular gambler is playing.
Many blackjack players are against this new method, as they feel that they are being constantly monitored. Nonetheless, the new system is not at all illegal. |
