Online Blackjack News - Blackjack Helps Las Vegas Casinos Achieve Record July Winnings

Nevada casinos broke monthly records for the 12th month in a row this past July, made possible in part by huge increases in blackjack winnings. Statewide, casino winnings were posted as $958.4 million, up 17.9 percent from July 2004's $812.7. The Las Vegas Strip had an especially good month, reporting 22.7 percent growth in casino winnings across its 43 casinos.
Table games including blackjack and baccarat constituted the greatest moneymakers for Nevada's casinos. Blackjack proved the most lucrative game overall, claiming a total of $115.1 million from players across the state, up 38.2 percent compared to July 2004. Blackjack made $71.3 million in strip casinos alone, a 47.2 jump from July 2004 figures.
