Online Blackjack News - Blackjack and Poker psychology by Greg Raymer
Though Greg Raymer, 40, Connecticut resident holds no degree in psychology, his attitude towards wins and losses in gambling is truly philosophical. While still in college, majoring in Law he often times enjoyed himself at the game of blackjack employing the card counting technique and playing nickel-dime poker.
With years passing by, Raymer’s appetite for blackjack and poker gambling was not abated. On the contrary, in the last year’s 2004 World Series of Poker when he was up against 2,576 players, he once again proved his dazzling abilities earning the $5 million dollar award, plus the title. It is only recently that a larger single prize was offered on the WSOP tournament.
Raymer admits to the convergence of luck and chance factoring the proceedings of the game. To the interviewer’s inquiring whether there is any common ground in being a lawyer, blackjack and poker player, at once he responded saying that on both accounts smart decisions and fickleness of chance are present. He further argued that blackjack and poker are much like the life itself since no guarantees are offered. Right decisions clutched with a bundle of good fortune might be as close as one can get to the success.
