Online Blackjack News - No Mid-Show Entry policy to Blackjack Tables keeps card counters away

The game of blackjack is famous but it’s even more famous for the card counters ruthlessly trumping casino after casino. To shield themselves from the invasion of card counters, many casinos are showcasing the NO Mid-Show Entry sign on their blackjack tables.
This essentially means that a new player joining the blackjack table will have to wait for the shoe to be empty and only then will he be able to place his bet. The reason casinos make such efforts to follow this rule is to discourage “table hoppers” or ”wongers”. These names were given to card counters, after Stanford Wong, the notorious blackjack pro. Professional players count cards in the shoe as bystanders and then enter the game just when the time is right and the odds are in favor of the player.
