Online Blackjack News - Minnesota Blackjack revenues are in decline
Annual reports have shown that in spite of the growth rates of Minnesota gambling industry, the figures for 2004 are pointing to the decline. Casino profits have dropped down from third to forth, in comparison to the previous year.
About 7 percent of the total casino proceeds in the country come from blackjack games and slot machines, yielding $1.3 billion. Executive director of the Minnesota Indian Gaming Association, John McCarthy maintained that these numbers point to a fact that the growth in revenues is only limited and has already reached its peak. The economist Alan Meister hypothesized that the curb in proceeds might be due to inability of gambling proponents to establish a state-tribal casino in Twin Cities which would offer blackjack, roulette and slots.
While the state-tribal casino could stimulate additional take, it is still unclear how long this effect would last. McCarthy, the representative of few Twin City areas, strongly opposes to casino projects, saying that the state-tribal casino is bound to have a nuclear quality, that would one day explode.
