Online Blackjack News - California University tackles the subject of Blackjack odds
|
|
California State University is scheduled to offer a unique summer course on Introduction to Gambling and Chance, for those who wish to know better the odds behind the most popular casino games, such as blackjack, roulette, craps and others.
Michael Orkin, Ph.D professor of the course explained that the subject is not going to be on gambling, but strictly on mathematical aspect of the odds, behind the well known games. The admission fee is $225 and those who have high school algebra education can sign in.
The course will provide an insight into the world of gambling, addressing such buzzing questions as, how the card counting works in blackjack and how the odds are preset? Some of the outcomes of this course, Michael maintained, may be to overwhelm the students and demonstrate that gambling might not be such a good idea, after all.
These courses are largely promoted by Statistic teachers, hoping to revive a bit the dull lessons and also receive additional credits for it.
