Online Blackjack News - The game of Blackjack is less addictive than Slots
Traditionally, it is believed that blackjack, a popular casino game, unveils one of the more addictive forms of gambling. The truth is there is no staunch ground for this premises. Addiction for casino gaming appears to have nothing to do with popularity or sophistication of the game. Rather, it seems to relate to entirely different matters.
A slot gambling greatly exemplifies this idea. Some don’t even perceive slots as a real gambling. First, because there are relatively small amounts of money involved, comparing to table games such as blackjack or poker and second, because the layout is more akin to children games. In Slots, no sophistication is required, as opposed to blackjack, where a wide range of gaming techniques prevails. All that one needs, is just to slip in a coin and pull down the leverage.
Interestingly enough, the New Jersey Council on Compulsive Gambling, Ed Looney pronounced slots, of all casino games, to be the most addictive form of gambling. The hook of this game is believed to be created by anticipation to instantaneous display of the betting results. At blackjack table, a bettor might have to spend at least 10 minutes between hands, whereas in playing slots, the time lapse can be as short as 8 seconds.
