Online Blackjack News - Police officer cheats at Vegas Blackjack Table
At the Stratosphere casino in Las Vegas, a police officer was seized for alleged trespassing at the blackjack table. On May 5 and 6, casino surveillance cameras captured Edgar Zermeno, 33 cheating. Pit bosses and security staff rushed to the ‘crime scene’ alarmed by what was displayed on the cameras.
Keith Copher, chief of enforcement for Nevada Gaming Control Board, reported that earlier this month officer Zermeno earned approximately $1,000 playing blackjack. He said that the dealer was showing his hole card and paying even when Zermeno’s card was unfavorable.
The dealer, Edgar Kovinaria, 52 was also detained and charged in conspiracy and two counts of cheating. Deputy District Attorney Brian Rutledge contended that if convicted, both, the blackjack player and the dealer would face a 6 year prison sentence on each count.
